Contents of stomach and intestines
The contents of stomach and intestines are separated in a dry process at the casing plant. This biomass is of higher value for anaerobic digestion than traditional manure due to the fact that the biomass contains undigested feed resulting in a higher level of carbon accessible for the methane production.
Cat 2 with no demands for prior processing (1069/2009, article 13, no e (ii). Dry matter content typically ranges between 13-20% with an average of 17,3%.
Manure from lorries
Manure is collected from lorries by dryscraping prior to washing. Saw dust is used as litter during transport for the comfort of the pigs. This biomass is thus a mixture of manuare and saw dust.

Sludge from DAF (dissolved air flotation)
Process water from slaughterhouses are preprocessed prior to biological waste water treatment. In all cases the process water undergoes screening according to the ABP order. In some cases the screened process water is flotated.
The quality of the sludge is characterized by its high content of fat. The slaughterhouses do not use any environmentally harmfull substances in the cleaning agents like EDTA, NPE, LAS and DEHP. A low content of heavy metals is documented by analysis. The process water has not been in contact with sanitary water.
The sludge is either natural or dewatered.
Due to the screening the sludge from the subsequent DAF plant is not under the regulation by the ABP order and is only regulated by national legislation. Dry matter content typically ranges between 18-25% for dewatered sludge and the natural sludge has typically a content of 3%.

Dry matter content typically ranges between 14-22%.
Stick water is a residual product from the melting of fat. It is a watery fraction containing proteins.
